Cantillon Zwanze Day 2016
Saturday October 1st 11am – 2pm
We are extremely proud and honored once again to be hosting Cantillon’s Zwanze Day at Mikkeller Bar SF! Once a year a handful of the best beer bars all over the world are chosen by Cantillon’s owner and brewer, Jean Van Roy to receive a single keg of Zwanze. This year’s version will be tapped at 59 bars in 17 different countries on the same exact day and served at the same time. Only 27 bars in the United States are participating and only four places in California! This year’s Zwanze beer recipe is a throwback Framboise going back in time 30 years to period where production methods were somewhat different than they are today. A result of two year old Lambic aged on a blend of 82% raspberries, 18% blueberries, and .05% Bourbon Vanilla beans this is sure to be a Zwanze beer to remember. Along with the Zwanze 2016 Frambosie we will also have Mamouche, Kriek, Gueuze, and Iris Grand Cru on draft. Doors will open at 10 am for ticket holders only. We open to the public at 2pm. That will give you 3 hours to enjoy your Zwanze and 3 pours of either of the other Cantillon offerings. Our kitchen will be open serving a full menu and our full draft and bottle list will be available as well.
Your $65 ticket includes:
Entrance for one person
One 8oz serving Zwanze 2016 Framboise
Three 6oz servings of any of the other remaining Cantillon offerings
One Commemorative Cantillon Zwanze 2016 Glass
Tax & Gratuity Included in the price
Doors will open at 10am. The event will start at 11.
Zwanze 2016 Framboise served at 11:40 - toast at noon.
Please make sure to bring your ID. We will not be able to let you into the building without valid ID showing that you are over 21 years of age.
Tickets are sold out for this event. Thank you.
Tsuyu Saison Tapping
Thursday October 6 @ 6PM
Japanese craft brewery Coedo teamed up with Stone Brewing and New Zealand’s Garage Project to brew a barrel aged saison. Tsuyu, named after the gentle rains that fall while the Ume plums are ripening in Japan is hopped w/ American Jarrylo and New Zealand Motueka then infused with Ume plum and red perilla leaf before being aged in freshly emptied New Zealand Chardonnay barrels. You know you want to try it.
We will be tapping this very special and rare keg of Tsuyu for this event as well as other offerings from Coedo and Stone. Representatives from Coedo and Stone will be in house to answer any questions and toast to a successful collaboration.
Beers on tap:Coedo/Stone/Garage Project Tsuyu
This will not be a ticketed event. Just show up and drink beer!
Mikkeller Running Club Monthly Run
Saturday, 10/1 @ 10am
MRC is a running club. MRC is a beer drinking club. MRC is taking over the world with over 100 chapters started since November of 2014. If you run and you like beer then we're here for you. Runs are every 1st Saturday of the month. Our team captain is beertender extraordinaire Rich Allen. MRC San Francisco meets at Cupid's Span and runs along the Embarcadero. There's a 5K and 10K marker. All you need to be a permanent member is to buy yourself an MRC shirt and meet for the run. Not necessarily in that order. Shirts are for sale at the bar. After the run everyone meets at Mikkeller Bar SF for a well earned beer. You participation in the run gets you a free beer!
Cheers to fitness and beer!
